For the best night’s sleep, you simply must sleep with bamboo bedding! There are so many benefits of using bamboo bed sheets. First and foremost, they are breathable, so they better allow air to circulate and regulate body temperature, especially compared to cotton sheets. This means that they keep you warm in cold temperatures and cool in the warmer temperatures, making them perfect for any climate. This temperature regulating ability of bamboo sheets can lead to better quality sleep, which is what we want our sheets to help with most of all!
Bamboo Fabric Benefits.
Bamboo fabric is also ideal for people with skin allergies as the super softness of the bamboo fabric is not abrasive against your skin. This is especially the case with the sateen weave as it’s a three-yarn-over and one-yarn-under weave. This produces the most luxurious, smooth, and higher thread count bedding ideal for sensitive skin or even just for people who appreciate supreme comfort and quality! Those with asthma and other breathing difficulties also benefit from using bamboo as it produces fewer allergens and is antibacterial perfect for the Australian climate. As bamboo bedsheets are moisture wicking it reduces the likelihood of dust mites and bacteria from inhabiting your bed as they both need moisture to produce. Even better, bamboo sheets remain odour free for much longer, even after repeated use. There are so many reasons why bamboo is superior when compared with cotton and other linens.
What Our Bamboo Sheets Are Made Of.
You can know with certainty that our bamboo bedsheets are made from 100% organically grown bamboo, they are not blended with any other fabric so you get the full benefit. We have chosen to produce the 400TC as it is the softest, smoothest and airiest available. You will feel like you are sleeping in the clouds with our bamboo sheets each night! This standard of sheet is equivalent to 1000+ thread count Egyptian cotton but delivers all the benefits of bamboo to you!
All our linen is Oeko-Tex 100 standard too so you can sleep easy knowing that all our products are certified free of harmful chemicals and are safe for human use. This means that the fabric has been tested and certified to be free from harmful levels of more than 100 substances known to be harmful to human health.
Did you know that bamboo fabrics are not only great for you but better for our environment too? Bamboo is one of the fastest growing plants in the world and is not water thirsty like cotton and crops can be grown organically without the use of pesticides or herbicides. Bamboo requires no fertiliser and self-regenerates from its own roots, so it doesn't need to be replanted making bamboo ideal as it is so sustainable. This is great news for the environment at a time when we are all thinking about how we can make a difference to our planet.
The Eastwind Bamboo Bed Sheet Difference.
Eastwind Textiles has a great variety of sheet colours available to suit any palate whether it be a vibrant and fun colour such as aqua splash or an on-trend colour such as blush or subtle sage. We also have ever-popular ice blue and the complete neutral palate of either charcoal grey, oatmeal, light silver, taupe and of course the staple in most linen collections, crisp white.
Our sheets are designed to fit any depth mattress, even the thickest luxury pillow top, as they have a depth of 43cm, so your sheets will snap tight under your mattress and prevent the fitted sheet slipping off on your king, queen, double or king single bed. We have a generous 40cm depth on our single fitted sheet and a 20cm depth on our cot sheets. This prevents the hassle of your flat sheet slipping off and making the bed is just that bit easier with our generous sized sheets. Our king, queen and double sets have a flat sheet, a fitted sheet and 2 pillowcases included and our king single, single and cot sheets have a fitted sheet, a flat sheet and 1 pillowcase included.
Pair The Sheets With Bamboo Quilts.
Want to benefit even further from bamboo every night? Why not match the sheets with one of our beautiful quilt covers and layer the bamboo so you get the full bamboo effect? Our quilt covers are available in king or queen in pale silver, white, charcoal or grey and white striped designs. If you’re not a doona fan, remember our bamboo is thermal regulating, so our bamboo blankets are ideal as a lighter option in summer, or in winter you can layer them under your quilt for extra warmth. Need extra pillowcases? We’ve got that covered too! In a beautifully presented pouch, we have a set of two pillowcases in white, blush, soft sage, charcoal or iced blue. It’s always great to have a couple of spares to keep your bed fresh or to change the colours when you like!
Our 100% organically grown bamboo bedsheets will give you a better chance of a great night’s sleep for so many reasons, but do not take our word for it… try them for yourself! And with the best pricing available in Australia, and a 30-day return policy, there’s no better place to shop for all your bamboo linen needs than at Eastwind Textiles.
Worried about how to care for your bamboo bed linen? No need to worry, there are just a few simple rules to ensure your bamboo sheets stay soft and long lasting:
Care Instructions.
This is the golden rule with all bamboo items as hot water can cause shrinkage and cold water is guaranteed not to do this. Do not fear about nasty bacteria growing in sheets and needing hot water to get rid of it. Bamboo is naturally anti-bacterial and anti-fungal so they will stay fresh even during a cold wash cycle.
Only Use Delicate Laundry Detergents & Recommended Cycle.
We recommend you use gentle washing liquids or powders as they guarantee to be kind to your fabric. We recommend some of the natural ones found at your local supermarket such as the Earth Choice Wool & Delicates. You may choose to continue to use your regular detergent, just be mindful that some do contain brighteners and bleach which may have a staining effect on your sheets. Always use a gentle cycle and do not put in the same wash cycle as any abrasive fabrics. If you need to remove stains from your sheets, look for something natural from your supermarket. Again Earth’s Choice has some excellent non-bleach or chlorine based products.
Rules For Drying & Making Your Sheets Crease Free.
As with just about every fabric, the most risk free results come from line drying flat and out of direct sunlight, but we know this is not always possible. If you lead a busy life and rely on your tumble drier, the good news is that you can do so as long as you dry the sheets on a cool and delicate cycle. If you like to iron your sheets, some might call you crazy, but as long as you iron on a cool setting you will be fine. If you would like the natural way of getting your sheets crease free, spread them out flat, draped over your line and the weight of them will pull the creases out.
Occasionally with bamboo you might see some pilling occur on the sheets and towels. As bamboo is a natural fibre, this pilling is normal, especially in response to friction and isn't a fault or defect. The pilling will naturally shed and can be reduced or removed during the washing and drying process (as per the care instructions). The pilling is usually removed after 5 or 6 washes, or earlier. Pilling doesn’t always occur but it’s also not unusual in the initial use period, it depends on the amount of friction and body heat.
